Elder Outreach
Coffee and Conversation:
Family Freedom Center provides multiple programs designed to reduce isolation and create culturally inclusive spaces for elders. Conversations & Coffee is a cross generational event designed with Elders in mind, to give us an opportunity to connect with one another. Join FFC and community members at our bi-monthly gatherings. Connecting and getting in tune with what's going on in our neighborhoods.
Programming includes:
Elders Tablet Program:
We provide the tablets and the training for our Elders to participate in the program. Our elders are given the opportunity to both learn about technological & have meaningful conversations together. Our leadership team even offers home visits! We will come to your home to drop off the tablet and teach you how to get connected! We will continue this tech support for you while you have the tablet.
Elders Advocacy Program:
Let us know how our community can support you. We have provided support in areas such as transportation to and from appts, as well as funds for grocery needs.
Coffee and Conversation meetings are every other Wednesday, typically hosted at the Washington Center (310 N 1st Ave W). It runs from 10am-12pm. Starting in May Coffee and Conversations will be hosted at the Farm (500 E 10th St), weather permitting. Reminder emails will be sent out at the beginning of the week on a hosting week for coffee and conversation, so be sure to register!
